ALBERT STEPHEN FULTZ, JR. STAUNTON, VA Albert Stephen Fultz, Jr., beloved husband of Betsy (Wilkerson) Fultz of 21 Woodlee Road, Staunton, died Monday, December 17, 2012, at King's Daughters' Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born February 9, 1927 in Staunton, the son of the late Albert Stephen and Ruth Ogden Fultz. Stephen was president of the Senior Class of 1945 at Robert E. Lee High School and was a graduate of Dunsmore Business College He was a veteran of the United States Army Infantry. Mr. Fultz was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church. He was very active in local civic organizations and served as president of the YMCA on two occasions. He was the Chairman of the Memorial Baptist Church Building Committee for the original church construction project. He was Owner/Operator of Fultz Lumber and Building Supply Company, retiring in May of 1989. In addition to his wife whom he married on June 26, 1948, family members include a son, Stephen Michael Fultz of Greensboro, NC; a daughter, Martha Fultz O'Brien of Woodbridge; four grandchildren, Aubrey Fultz Haskins, Allison Fultz Darnall, William Kyle O'Brien, and Benjamin Michael Fultz; and a niece, Beverley Stuart Thomas. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2012, in First Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Steve Traylor. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 406 W. Frederick Street, Staunton, VA 24401 or your charity of choice.
