    ALFRED LEE ANDERSON, JR.

    August 14, 1967 - January 3, 2013

    ALFRED L. ANDERSON, JR. STAUNTON, VA Alfred Lee "Bobby" Anderson, Jr., 45, husband of Donna Anderson, of 66 Heather Lane, died Thursday, January 3, 2013, in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born August 14, 1967, in Staunton, a son of the late Alfred Lee, Sr., and Frances Ann (Matheny) Anderson. Mr. Anderson was a member of the National Guard and U.S. Army. He was employed by McKee as a maintenance mechanic. He was a Civil War Reenactor with the 5th Virginia Infantry, Long Streets Core, and the West Augusta Guard. He was a member of the Staunton Masonic Lodge #13. In addition to his wife, whom he married November 1989, family members include two sons and daughter-in-law, Chris and Becky Wimer and Alfred "Bobby Lee" Anderson III; two daughters, Mandie Bailey and her fiancé`, Jordan Varner, and Christina Anderson and her fiancé`, Brandon Wilson,; three brothers, Charles Clark, Adam Clark, Ricky Clark; two sisters, Cathi Dovel and Macky Anderson; grandchildren, Preston Lambeth, Ayden Wimer, Tiffany Bailey, Aaron Bailey, and Kymber Varner; aunts and uncles, Joyce Grant, Claudine Brooks, Peggy and husband, Jessie Truslow, Brenda and Wayne Gibson; and two granddogs, Jenny and Leo. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Alex Scott Wilson; his grandmother, Louise Slusser; and an uncle, Jack Matheny. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2013 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. John Ward. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be John Taliaferro, Jeff Barnett, Charley Douglass, Waverley Adcock, John Anderson, Brad Robertson, Gary Gregory, and Bruce Houle. Honorary pallbearers will be Benno Clark and Ronnie Bailey. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013, in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the U.V.A. Cancer Center, P.O. Box 800334, Charlottesville, VA 22908.
