ALICE B. CORNELIUS LEXINGTON, VA Alice Faye (Bowers) Cornelius, 59, wife of Clyde Brown Cornelius, Sr., of 513 Arpia Street, died Sunday, November 4, 2012, at her residence. She was born October 18, 1953, in Bath County, a daughter of the late Dewey Lee, Sr., and Fanny Ellen (Ryder) Bowers. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Staunton in 1973. Surviving family members include two daughters, Hazel Ellen Cornelius and her fiancé, Benjamin Legg and Wanda Faye Bentley and her friend, Clifton Johnson; three sons, Clyde Brown Cornelius, Jr. and his fiancée, Emily Offenberger, James William Cornelius, and Joseph Larry Cornelius; a brother, Dewey Lee Bowers, Jr. and friend, Becky Frenger, all of Staunton; grandchildren, Kayla Faye Bentley, Wesley Eugene Bentley, Jr., HazelEllen Faye Legg, Micheal Logan Cornelius, Jacoby Chase Offenberger; aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews; and special friends Harry "Joe" Camden III, Wesley Bentley, Sr., and Keri Goins. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Harry Camden Cornelius; maternal grandparents Hazel McCune and Ellis Ryder; and paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Kate Bowers. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Barry Lawson. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2012, in the funeral home and other times at 368 Grandon Road, Staunton.
