AMALIA O. BROTHERSSTAUNTON, VA… Amalia Otero Brothers, known to her friends as Molly, passed away at her residence on Sunday, December 20, 2015. Molly was born in Aquila, Colorado on June 29, 1924. She worked in Washington D.C. where she met her future husband and naval officer George Raleigh Brothers, Jr. of Ware Neck, Virginia.  The young couple moved to Mobile, Alabama in the 1940’s.  George passed away in 1998, and Molly continued to live in their home on Dog River until 2010 when she moved to Staunton, Virginia.  She resided at 31 Woodlee Road until her death. Molly is survived by a sister Marcia Goheen of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; a son George Raleigh Brothers III and his wife Sandee Brothers of Phenix City, Alabama; daughter Barbara Ann Brothers of Staunton, Virginia; daughter Jennifer Brothers Castelli and her husband Jeff Castelli of Reston, Virginia; and grandchildren Eric Tipler of New York City, New York; Kathleen Tipler of Norman, Oklahoma; Anthony and Katrina Castelli of St. Louis, Missouri; and Nina Amalia Castelli of Portland, Oregon. Appreciation from the family is extended to the staff at Brightview Assisted Living who cared lovingly for Molly. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah or your local S.P.C.A. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
