Arlie Armentrout

Arlie L. Armentrout, husband of Nancy (Thornton) Armentrout, formerly of Staunton, VA, passed away August 13, 2016 at his home in The Villages, FL. He was born in Nimrod Hall in Bath County, VA on October 3, 1929, a son of the late Paul and Elizabeth (Williams) Armentrout. Prior to retirement, he was employed by E.I. DuPont in Waynesboro, VA. Mr. Armentrout served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Staunton and a life member of the Staunton Elks Lodge. In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Geary L. Armentrout and wife Mary of Seneca, S.C.; four grandchildren, David L. Armentrout and wife Jamie, Bryce D. Armentrout and wife Nicole, Sarah G. Armentrout, and Katheline Phillips and husband John; and seven great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday August 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Henry Funeral Home by the Rev. Dr. Steve Traylor. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to a charity of your choice.
