AUDREY C. GARBER STAUNTON, VA… Audrey Virginia (Coffey) Garber, 80, wife of the late John L. Garber, Jr. of 147 Pleasant View Road, died Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at her residence. She was born January 28, 1936, in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Rudolph Wilson and Ruby Virginia (Campbell) Coffey. Audrey was a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School and R.N. with a diploma from Lynchburg General Hospital.Mrs. Garber worked at Western State Hospital and Staunton Manor Nursing Home. She volunteered for 19 years at Sherando Lake and loved reading, camping, and meeting new friends. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Wilson C. Coffey and John Coffey. Family members include two daughters and sons-in-law, Dana and David Tacy of Verona and Suzanne and Jesse Campbell of Staunton; two brothers, Hedley Coffey and wife, Jackie, of Raphine and David Lee Coffey of Staunton; two sisters, Maxine and husband, Jack Ford, of Chesterfield County, and Barbara and husband, Charles Shaner, of Staunton; a sister-in-law, Beverley Coffey; five grandchildren, Brent Tacy and wife, Jamie, Amber Tacy, Kristin Johnston, Ryan Campbell, and Kaitlyn Campbell; two great grandchildren, Jaiden and Parker Johnston; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special dog, Izzy. A funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon  Friday, October 7, 2016, in Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. Bobby Campbell. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Marshall Braylo, Jim Flower, Bruce Goodman, Cliff Mullins, Ryan Campbell, and Brent Tacy. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews and members of her Sunday School class. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church. Memorials may be made to the HOPE Cancer Center, 78 Medical Center Drive, Fishersville, VA 22939 or to Grace Christian School, 511 Thornrose Ave., Staunton, VA 24401.
