Audrey Mae Siple

Audrey Mae (Hildebrand) Short Siple, 89, of 131 Jerusalem Chapel Road, Churchville, VA went to be with the Lord January 28, 2016. She was born May 1, 1926 only daughter of the late John A. Hildebrand Sr. and Hesetine “Tiny” Hildebrand. Audrey was a devoted Christian and an active member of St. James United Methodist Church in Churchville where she taught Sunday School for 25 years.  She sang in the choir and was a member of the Blanche Gilbert Circle. Family members include two sons, Gary Short and John Mark and wife, Robin Short; two step-sons, George Siple and Barry Siple; a step-daughter, Anita Siple Howard; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Austin F. Short; second husband, Floyd N. Siple; two sons, Austin Neil Short and Blaine Carlin Short; a step-son, Glen N. Siple Sr.; and a brother, John A. Hildebrand Jr. Audrey was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 in St. James United Methodist Church by the Rev. Lester Kennedy.  Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Eddie Pitsenbarger, Butch Britt, Ray Kisamore, Gary Kisamore, Steven Kisamore, Bruce Botkin, and Doug Harlow. Honorary pallbearers will be the Blanche Gilbert Circle Sunday School. The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2016 in the Henry Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Special thank you for her caregivers which allowed her to live independently and with dignity her last few years; Leslie Moon, Linda Griffin, Rebecca Clements; and her lifelong friends, Ray and Virginia Kisamore and family.    Memorials may be made to Augusta Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O.
