Alicia S. Rowe

Heaven gained a beautiful, beloved wife and mother on the morning of January 12th, 2022. Alicia Steele Rowe, 70 of Greenville, passed away unexpectedly at UVA Medical Center.

She was born on June 18, 1951, in Rome, New York. She was the daughter of Harold Steele and the late Faye Steele of Steeles Tavern. Alicia is also survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Larry (Pete) Rowe. Pete was a devoted husband to Alicia, always by her side through countless years of health challenges, without complaint, and always with a loving smile. Alicia was a lovingly devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Her greatest love of all was her family.

Alicia loved her family so much. She loved birds and flowers. Alicia´s love for shoes and shopping kept UPS busy, she loved ordering from QVC and Amazon. She was also a talented beautician and had many clients that became her close friends

Alicia was blessed with many extra years here on earth after Jessica, her daughter donated two organs to her. She and Jessica shared a special bond that couldn´t be broken. Special thanks to the University of Virginia team of doctors who cared for Alicia for many years, as well as Susan Becker, NP who took extra special care of Alicia.

In addition to her mother and father, family members include a daughter and son-in-law Jessica and Robbie Martin of Stuarts Draft, and a son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Katie Rowe of Klamath Falls, Oregon. Alicia´s grandchildren, Easton and Gracie Martin, Jag Ryker, Hagen, Torsten, Annika and Bodhi Rowe were her ¨medicine” and her pride and joy. They kept her going when times were tough. She also leaves behind a special great-niece, Dreama Anderson.

Alicia is also survived by her loving sisters, Linda Johnson (Dennis), Lou Pugh, and Shirley Walker. She also leaves many nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews, who all held a special place in her heart

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to UVA Children's Hospital, Norah June Tournament, UVA Alumni Hall ℅ UVA Children's Hospital, PO Box 400314, Charlottesville, VA 22904
