Barbara Jean (Back) Truxell

BARBARA B. TRUXELL  FISHERSVILLE, VA… Barbara Jean (Back) Truxell, 59, wife of Joseph Franklin Truxell, of Fishersville and formerly of Swoope, died Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at her residence.  She was born October 23, 1958, in Staunton, a daughter of the late John Wesley, Sr. and Nancy Ann (Malcom) Back. Barbara was a graduate of Buffalo Gap High School Class of 1977 and Elizabeth Brant Business School.  Prior to retirement, she was employed by Hollister, Inc. as a secretary and was previously employed by Staunton Steam Laundry. Barbara was a member of Staunton First Church of God.  In addition to her husband, family members include two daughters, Brittany Jade Truxell and Jodie Frances Truxell; three grandsons, Dylan Truxell, Mason Sprouse, and Logan Truxell; two step-sons, Phillip Truxell and Derek Borkey and wife, Candice; step-grandchildren; sisters, Linda Back Skelton and husband, Glenn, Patricia Back Lyle, and Judy Back-Eye and husband, Todd; brother, John Wesley “J.W.” Back, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Carlton Truxell and wife, Becky, and their sons and Edward J. Truxell and his sons; nephews and nieces, Clint and Aimee Lyle, Colt and Ashley Lyle, Jami Lyle and Thomas Wright, Josh and Emily Back, and Jacob Back; great-nieces, Jordyn Hoffman, Lindsay Lyle, and Madison Lyle; and special friends and caregivers, Renee Estes and Nakia Wade. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Frances “Granny” Malcolm.  A funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon Friday, April 20, 2018 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Scott Stedman. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018 in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her grandson’s education trust.
