BARBARA P. SNYDER STAUNTON, VA Barbara Christine (Poff) Snyder, 80, wife of Kenneth Snyder, of 41 Fairmont Drive, died Sunday, June 9, 2013, at her residence. She was born December 17, 1932, in Roanoke, a daughter of the late Thomas R. and Leola (Creasey) Poff. She was a member of Fishersville United Methodist Church. She was an extremely devoted wife and mother and her family meant everything to her. In addition to her husband of 60 years, family members include six children, Kenneth R. Snyder, Jr. and wife, Rachel, of Waynesboro, Thomas G. Snyder and wife, Sherry, of Staunton, Gary L. Snyder and wife, Sheri, of McGaheysville, a daughter, Christina L. Smith and husband, Joseph, of Rocky Mount, NC, John W. Snyder of Atlanta, GA, and Michael D. Snyder of Staunton; nine grandchildren, Megan Kincheloe, Casey Snyder, David Snyder, Jason Snyder, Matthew Snyder, Lindsay Snyder, Emily Smith, Zachary Smith, and Logan Smith; three great grandchildren, Graycie Kincheloe, Gavyn Collier, and Liam Collier; and a special family friend, James Hathaway. She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Poff, Jr. and a sister, Mildred Vest. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Larry Jent. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be her sons, Kenny, Tommy, Gary, John, and Mike Snyder, and Joe Smith. Her daughter, Christy Smith, will be an honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013, in the Henry Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O. Her children and husband were by her side with love and support every day during her period of illness.
