Benny Edward Rankin

BENNY E. RANKIN SWOOPE, VA…Benny Edward Rankin, 69, husband of Dianne Potter Rankin, of Swoope, died Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Augusta Health. He was born November 24, 1948 in Staunton, a son of the late Leonard Franklin and Ruby Marjorie (Andes) Rankin. Benny was the manager for 30 years at Staunton Bowling Lanes and owned T-Bone Tooter.   He loved working with the youth program during his years at the Bowling Lanes, working in his shop, airbrushing, building trikes, and riding his motorcycle. Benny was a man with a really big heart and loved hosting 4th of July parties every year for his good friends. In addition to his wife, family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, Marc and Christina Rankin and Curtis and Rebecca Rohr; three grandchildren, Aydan Rankin, Sierra Swisher, and Lola Rohr; and his special companion, Minnie. A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018 in the Henry Funeral Home by the Rev. Gayle Thornberry.
