BERTHA J. BOSSERMAN SWOOPE, VA Bertha May (Jackson) Bosserman, 103, widow of Warren F. Bosserman, of 1591 Parkersburg Turnpike, died Sunday, December 16, 2012, at her daughter's residence. She was born February 21, 1909, in Craigsville, a daughter of the late Homer and Maddie Virginia (Harlow) Jackson. She was the oldest and life member of Westview United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, James F. Sheffer; a son, Arnold Bosserman; and two daughters, Ruby Ellinger and Joyce Carper. Family members include three daughters and a son-in-law, Nellie Harris and Shirley and George Gilmer, all of Staunton and Lucille Dull of Swoope; a brother, Ralph Jackson of Staunton; a sister, Doris Dull of Craigsville; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; and six great, great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Russell Heinrich.Burial will follow in Hebron Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be family members. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 in the funeral home and other times at her daughter's residence, 23 Bishop Lane, Staunton.
