BETTY B HARRIS GREENVILLE, VA Betty and Max are reunited at last. Betty Carmon (Bradley) Harris, 92, widow of Maxie Christian Harris, died  at Augusta Health on May 6, 2017. She was born August 10, 1924 in Pkin (Augusta Co.), a daughter of the late Eugene Almond and Rena Bell (Anderson) Bradley. Mrs. Harris was a member of Mount Joy Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, and her husband, her one true love who preceded her in death on August 13, 1971, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Bradley; four sisters, Lola Bradley, Frances M Heizer and Mary C “Dickie” Kemp, Annie Johnson and a granddaughter, Lucinda Lee Reese. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, John M. and Linda F. Harris of Staunton: four daughters, Pauline H. Reese and partner, Marvin “Butch” Collins; Shirley Burner and husband Larry; Joanie Harris and companion, David Selmon all of Staunton and Janice Bradley and husband Joe of Steeles Tavern; one sister, Hester B Brooks of Steeles Tavern, seven grandchildren, Fred C. Reese (Helen), Crystal K. Harris, John M. Harris, Jr.(Karen), Desiree A. Smith(Timmy), Talmage E. Clark, III, Travis C. Burner, and Carmon M. Bradley; five great grandchildren, Lacey Rowe, Jacob Reese, Brett Shawkey, Brooke Harris-Phillips, Cheyenne Smith, Max  Harris.  Also, her special friends Hazel Smiley, Ed Hays, and Maxine Weeks. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2017, in Mount Joy Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Don Cash.  Burial will follow in the Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Ed Hays, Bud Brooks, Richard Brooks, Johnny Kemp, Bobby Harris, Lewis Bradley, Jr., and her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are Anna Miller, Janet Smith, Dorothy Durham, Lisa Novele, Phyllis Hays, Ruth Varner, Linda M. Harris, Carolyn Brown, Judy Strickler, Rosa Cox, Sue Goff, Mary Ellen Hicks, Rena Nash, Vickie Potter, Maxine Weeks, Billie Rachoel, and her granddaughters. The family would like to thank all those who took special care and extended their love to Mom at Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Henry Funeral Home and other times at her children’s residence’s.
