Betty M. Patterson

STUARTS DRAFT, VA… Betty (Michael) Patterson, 82, wife of Paul R. Patterson, of 559 Lake Road, earned her heavenly wings on Friday, July 1, 2016 in Augusta Health. She was born on February 12, 1934 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late John D. Michael and Katie (Supple ) Michael Caricofe She loved being a housewife, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband of 64 years, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Daniel Anthony of Staunton and Kathy and Bernie Gardner of Stuarts Draft; five grandchildren, Christopher Childress, Chad Childress and fiance, Marcie, Brandon Childress and wife Amanda, Erica Cason and husband Jeremy, and Jennifer Layne and husband Eric; nine great grandchildren, Dylan and Tucker Cason, Hunter Childress, Rylee and Karlee Layne, Jayce Childress, Emily, Blake and Haley Puckett; a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Carole Michael; childhood and lifetime friends, Melvin “Cork” and Treva Bradley and their daughter Pam; numerous nieces and nephews, including special nephew, Robert Huffman, III; and members of Calvary United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by a sister, Loretta Michael Huffman, and a step father, Earl Caricofe. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2016 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Pastors Charles Reynolds and Nancy Vaughn.  Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Randy Garman, Neal Kirby, Jeremy Cason, Eric Layne, Doug Hawpe, Elwood Hays, and Robert Huffman, III. Honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family will receive friends anytime at the residence.
