BETTY LOTTS SHAW GREENVILLE, VA Betty (Lotts) Shaw, 86, formerly of Raphine went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at Shenandoah House of Augusta, Fishersville. She was born April 20, 1925 near Brownsburg in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Edward F. Lotts and Mary (Benson) Lotts. Mrs. Shaw, a 1946 graduate of Brownsburg High School, was a lifelong homemaker. She was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church where she previously served as Secretary and Treasurer of the Wilson Bible Class and as a member of the Church Circle. On June 2, 1948, she was united in marriage to A. Melvin Shaw, who preceded her in death on April 21, 1989. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Clyde Weldon and Becky A. Shaw, of Greenville; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lynne Shaw and Bobby W. Moore, of Greenville; a grandson, Bradley William Hite and his wife, Carrie; two great granddaughters, Maggie and Macey Hite of Fairfield; a brother, Herbert L. Lotts of Lyndhurst; a sister, Dorothy (Lotts) Huffman, of Stuarts Draft; and a sister-in-law, Jane Kennan of Staunton. Mrs. Shaw was preceded in death by a sister, Frances (Lotts) Strickler; and five brothers, Roy, Berry, Harry, Finley, and James Lotts. A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012, in New Providence Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Keith Cornfield. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2012, in Henry Funeral Home. At her request, there will be no public viewing. Memorial contributions may be made to the History Room of New Providence Presbyterian Church, 1208 New Providence Road, Raphine, Virginia, 24472.
