BETTY B. SORRELLS ROANOKE, VA Betty Ann (Buchanan) Sorrells, 78, widow of James Kennan Sorrells, of 361 Day Avenue S.W., went to be with her Savior Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at Augusta Health, Fishersville. She was born June 18, 1935, in Spottswood, a daughter of the late Charles Levi and Vinnie (Craig) Buchanan. She was a member of Old Providence Presbyterian Church in Spottswood and Cornerstone Baptist Church in Roanoke. Family members include three sons, David and wife, Myra, of Fishersville, John of Roanoke, and Levi and Estelle of Henry; three grandchildren, Joshua and wife, Kristen, Jacob and wife, Candace, Aaron and wife, Blair; and two great grandchildren, Ashlee and Will. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister, Charles, Joseph, and Jane Buchanan. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. A celebration of her life will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2013, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Pastors Jim Patterson and Bill Johnson. Burial will follow in Old Providence ARP Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2013, at the funeral home.
