Betty June Souter

BETTY J. SOUTER MT. SIDNEY, VA Betty June (Jenkins) Souter, 83, wife of Richard F. Souter, died Monday, August 24, 2015, at her daughter's residence. She was born July 2, 1932, in Stanley, a daughter of the late Claude and Beulah (Gray) Jenkins. She retired as a secretary with the CIA. She was a longstanding member of Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, family members include three daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Marc White, Patricia and Mark Holben, and Kathryn and Greg Godowsky; five grandchildren, Kristy Cone and husband, Rob, Ryan White and wife, Jessica, Andrew Holben and wife, Erin, Brian Holben and wife, Christie, and Jeffrey Godowsky; and nine great grandchildren, Courtney and Nicholas Sheets, Isabella, Declan, Quinn and Eyla White, and Joshua, Audrey and Luke Holben. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Garland Jenkins and Roy Jenkins and a sister, Mae Marie Estep. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2015 in Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church by the Rev. John Crawford, III. Burial will be private. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
