Betty May Whitmer

BETTY H. WHITMER VERONA, VA Betty May (Helmick) Whitmer, 69, wife of John Whitmer, of 32 Earhart Lane, died Thursday, April 16, 2015, at her residence. She was born December 12, 1945, in Mt. Jackson, a daughter of the late Frank F. and Hilda M. (Estep) Helmick. In addition to her husband, family members include a son, John Shane Whitmer of Verona; two daughters, Stephanie Renee Whitmer and Betty Shannon Whitmer, both of Verona; two sisters, Patricia Sharp and Gale Howard, both of Verona; and a special family member, Denise Dickerson. She was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Helmick. A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2015, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Isaac Harper. Burial will be private at a later date. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2015, at the funeral home. The family requests no visitors at the home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests prayers in her memory.
