BILLY C. SHEETS  VERONA, VA… Billy C. Sheets, 85, of Verona, died Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at his residence. He was born February 22, 1931 in Verona, a son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Mary Emma (Griffin) Sheets. Prior to retirement, Mr. Sheets was employed by Wackenhut Corporation as a security guard. Family members include seven children, Toni M. Johnson of Shrewsbury, PA, Glen A. Sheets of Staunton, Phillip W. Sheets of Fishersville, Cynthia D. Roberson and her husband, Gary, of Staunton, Karen L. Miller of Fishersville, Donna Shuey and her husband, Curtis, of Verona and Mitzi Gwin and her husband, Jesse, of Fishersville; three brothers, Donny Sheets, Ray Sheets, and David Sheets, all of Richmond; two sisters, Nancy Mayo of Crewe and Cleta Wells of California; 18 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Pete Sheets and Claude “Buck” Sheets and three sisters, Shirley Edwards, Wanda Mayo, and Peggy McClenny. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2017 in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens by Pastor Bill Davis. Active pallbearers will be Phillip Sheets, Jonathan Harper, Brandon Sheets, Mike Burns, Eddie Sheets, and Jesse Gwin. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2017 in the Henry Funeral Home.
