Bobby Lee Cale

Bobby Lee Cale, 87, husband of Bonnie Mae (Craft)  Cale, of Brightview Baldwin Park, died Saturday, December 15, 2018 at his residence.  He was lovingly married for 66 years.  Born on September 30, 1931 in Verona, he was the  son of the late Charlie Chase and Vernie Mae (Thompson) Cale. Mr. Cale was a veteran, serving four years in the United States Air Force.  He often spoke proudly of his service and the valuable lessons learned. While initially training in electronics and working in the television industry, he went to work for Xerox in 1964 and eventually retired from Xerox.  He and his wife opened B & B Educational Supplies, and managed this business for many years before selling it to enjoy retirement.  Throughout his life, he was a  member of the Brethren Church, initially at Arbor Hill Church and later at the Staunton Church of the Brethren. In addition to his wife, surviving family members include a daughter, Vickie Higby and husband, Reed of Springfield, MO, a son, Randy Cale and wife, Kimberly Delvecchio of Saratoga Springs, NY, a daughter-in-law, Dana Cale of Culpeper, and a son, Jeff Cale and wife Michon, of Scottsville; a sister, Janette Gordon of Verona.  He was also a very proud grandfather of seven, and great grandfather of eleven.  A memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Staunton Church of the Brethren by Rev. Scott Duffey.  Burial will be private. The family will receive friends following the eleven o’clock service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Staunton Church of the Brethren, 1615 North Coalter Street, Staunton, VA  24401.
