BOBBY E. DALE STAUNTON, VA Bobby Eugene Dale, 79, loving husband of Charlotte (Gilbert) Dale, of 1567 Barterbrook Road, died Thursday, December 8, 2011, at Augusta Health, Fishersville. He was born June 16, 1932, in Charlottesville, a son of the late Eugene Herbert and Martha (Mowbray) Dale. Mr. Dale was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Columbia Gas and was also past treasurer of the Virginia Gas Credit Union. He was baptized on November 9, 1947, at Second Presbyterian Church where he became a member at the age of 12 and also served as an Elder of the church. He was in charge of the Boswell Jones Benevolence Fund for 14 years. In addition to his wife of 58 years, he was a loving and generous father of two sons, Cory Dale of Fishersville and Randy Dale of Waynesboro. Other family members include a sister and brother-in-law, Talitha and Dick Hippeard of Staunton; two nieces; and two nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at Second Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Dr. Daniel S. Williams. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be his sons, Cory and Randy Dale, Bill Rowe, Delbert Grant, Charles Masincup, and Roy Conner.
