STAUNTON, VA Byrna Jean (Crouse) Johnson, 79, widow of Greagor Carlton "Jack" Johnson, of Norwood Road, died Friday, January 18, 2013 at her residence. She was born on March 4, 1933 in Beckley, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Glen and Golden Joy (Williams) Crouse. Mrs. Johnson's life was filled with giving, starting as a young lady in the FBI, she traveled abroad as the wife of a Navy Seabee. She was a talented, artistic woman who owned her own ceramic shop and mentored many people. She lived a life close to God, actively serving as a member of Calvary Baptist Church in the choir, the sign language ministry and the prayer ministry. She shared God's love with her friends and family. Her family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory Allen Johnson and Carol of Jacksonville, FL, and James Carlton Johnson and Vickie of Staunton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Dorma "Sissy" Tuley Johnson of Staunton and Donna Faith Markunas and Raymond of Middlesex, NJ; seven grandchildren, David Johnson and his wife Jenny, Christy McLain, Bryce Johnson and his wife Brittany, Christopher Johnson, Samuel Johnson, and Faith and Victoria Markunas; and five great grandchildren, Derek, London, Alicia, Breanna and Lainey. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 in Calvary Baptist Church by Rev. Bobby Campbell. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2013 in the Henry Funeral Home.
