Betty Ann (Miller) Heizer, 88 peacefully entered eternal life on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at her home in Stuarts Draft surrounded by her loving family.

Born March 18, 1933 in Middlebrook, VA the oldest child of the late Henry W. Miller, Sr. and Hassie D. Miller and wife of the late James F. Heizer for 58 years, she and her husband owned and operated Sunnyside/Sunnytop dairy farm in Greenville for 38 years. They then spent 4 years in Florida and 3 years in Illinois, returning to Augusta County in 1997. She worked at the Hessian House in Greenville, VA and for 12 years at the Microtel in Staunton.

She was a homemaker for more than 65 years, a lifetime member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, a prior member of the Flares and Squares Dance Club and an avid creator of beautifully crocheted afghans that she gifted to family and friends. She enjoyed taking care of her family, Bible study groups, reading, playing Words with Friends and Bridge, virtual visits with family and family game days. As a widow she traveled frequently across the country to visit with family.

Her surviving family members include a daughter, Wanda French (Ralph) of Corpus Christi, TX; a son, Jeff Heizer (Sara); of Stuarts Draft, and a daughter-in-law, Lynn Heizer, of Leesburg, FL. Her sisters, Shirley Heizer (Joe) of Middlebrook and Margaret Myrtle of Raphine; five grandchildren, Amanda Bitz (retired Navy CDR Nathan), Tina Lemke (Nick), Stephanie Cauley (Greg), Stuart Barton (Nicole) and Suzy Henke (Mat); eight great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Daugherty, Christian, Evelyn and Conner Cauley, Giana Lemke, Ethan and Hunter Bitz and Ryker Henke. Close nieces Sharon (Heizer) Phillips and Pamela (Heizer) Katt and numerous other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Wayne E. Heizer, five brothers, Daniel Robert, Henry Walker, Jr., Wesley, Lee Roy and Charles Lester Miller, nephew, Wilson R. Miller, niece, Carol F. Miller, and brother-in-law, J.T. Myrtle.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 1 pm Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Bethel Presbyterian Church, Staunton, VA by Carolyn Lewis. An invitation to share a favorite memory will be extended to attendees.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visiting and refreshments in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Ralph French, Nathan Bitz, Stuart Barton, Scott, Eric and Jim Miller. Honorary pallbearers are Joe C. Heizer, Ethan and Hunter Bitz, Jed and Joseph Katt.

The family will receive family and friends from 6 until 8:30 pm Friday, February 11, 2022 at Henry Funeral Home, Staunton, VA.
