Betty Jones LaBonté, widow of George Victor “Vic” LaBonté, Jr., formerly of 206 Mountain View Drive, Staunton, VA, died Sunday, June 20, 2021.
She was born in Augusta County on August 17, 1928 the daughter of the late Paul Samuel Jones and Besse Evers Jones.
She was educated at Robert E. Lee High School and Longwood College.
She was preceded in death by her husband on November 5, 2014 after 67 years of marriage. They were married at First Baptist Church in Staunton on March 8, 1947. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Ann LaBonté in 2007 and a brother, John Earl Jones in 1976.
Surviving family members include two daughters and their husbands, Lynn LaBonté Avoli and John of Staunton and Deborah LaBonté Lumsden and David of Chesterfield, VA; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, Paul S. Jones, Jr. of Nashville, TN; a sister-in-law, Ann LaBonté Futrell of Advance, NC; and two nephews.
According to her wishes, there will be a private graveside service at Thornrose Cemetery.
Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
