Carl Edward Graves, Sr.

CARL E. GRAVES, SR. MIDDLEBROOK, VA Carl Edward Graves, Sr., 89, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at his residence. Carl was born on July 18, 1925, in Rockbridge County. He grew up with the family of N. N. Cobb on Walker's Creek. He was a lifetime member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Wilma E. Graves; a daughter, Gail Graves Grimm and husband, David; a son, Carl E. Graves, Jr. (Eddie); four grandchildren, Jason Grimm, Julie Grimm Hollingsworth and husband, Devin, Kimberly Graves Swink and husband, Jimmy, and Lindsey Graves; three great grandchildren, Alexis and Mckenna Hollingsworth and Paisley Swink; and a brother, William Edwards and wife, Mildred. A memorial service will be in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015. Burial will be private at a later date. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, March 12, 2015, from 6 until 7:30 p.m. and other times at the residence. The family wishes to express their appreciation for the excellent care given to Carl by Dr. Rob Marsh, Mrs. Faye Taylor and the nurses and staff of Augusta Health Hospice.
