Carl Preston Henderson, Jr.

CARL P. HENDERSON JR. STAUNTON, VA Carl "Preston" Henderson Jr., 41, of Staunton, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. He was born December 12, 1973 to Carl P. Henderson Sr. and the late Sarah Carter "Pig" Henderson. Preston was employed by UPS Freight in Waynesboro. He was devoted to working out and bodybuilding and was a dedicated member of the YMCA in Staunton. He had a passion for basketball and the youth. He coached for AAU, the YMCA, and Stuart Hall where he led the middle school boys to a championship win in 2014. Preston leaves behind his wife, Sarah Ambrose Henderson, with whom he shared 25 years with; three daughters, Alaysia, Alexa and Adriana Henderson; a son, Jalen Henderson; a granddaughter, Anaya Henderson; a sister, Sara "Lorraine" Henderson; a brother-in-law, Dustin Ambrose (Shirley); father and mother-in-law, Richard and Judy Ambrose; three aunts, Mabel C. Miles (Jonathan), Doris Carter Price, and Deborah Simmons-Carter; an uncle, Leroy "Pee Wee" Carter; two nieces, Dymond and LaShay Henderson; two nephews, Mykul Henderson and Emanuel Nelson; and a host of cousins and friends. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by an uncle, James Carter. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Victory Worship Center with Pastor Ray Eppard officiating. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
