CATHERINE R. CAMPBELL STAUNTON, VA Catherine Evelyn (Rohr) Campbell, 86, widow of James "Jimmy" Campbell, formerly of Alleghany Avenue, died Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Envoy of Staunton. She was born November 24, 1924 in Staunton, a daughter of the late William J. and Lelia M. (Jordan) Rohr. She was a homemaker and provided child care in her home for a large number of years. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Helping Hands Circle, the Pot and Pan Club, and was in the Chancel Choir for 52 years. Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy, on August 12, 2001 and a son, Dorsey Lee Campbell on October 5, 2004. Family includes two grandsons, Dorsey Lee Fitzewater and Derrick Lee Campbell; three great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Ferne Rohr of Staunton, and Richard B. and Beverley Rohr of California; numerous nieces and nephews and a special nephew, Doug Rohr and his wife, BJ of Verona. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 in St. Paul's United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jeff Allen. Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Steve Rohr, Doug Rohr, Brent Campbell, Davey Jordan, Dorsey Fitzewater, and Derrick Campbell. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Ferne and Robert Rohr's residence at Bentley Commons, Apt. 1007, N. Augusta St., Staunton. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2000 Shutterlee Mill Road, Staunton, VA 24401.
