Catherine Berry Evans

CATHERINE B. EVANS STAUNTON, VA Catherine Berry Evans, 93, of Staunton, passed away Monday, April 15, 2013, at her residence. She was born on September 21, 1919, in Augusta County (Greenville), a daughter of the late Arthur and Argie (Weaver) Wiseman. Her work in Staunton included Visulite and Dixie Theaters and also the cafeteria at Augusta Military Academy in Fort Defiance. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dewey M. Berry, Sr.; her second husband, Lloyd R. Evans; three children, Gladys B. Taylor, Walter A. Berry, Dewey M. Berry, Jr.; two brothers, Norman L. and Lee C. Wiseman; and an infant sister, Stella Wiseman. She is survived by a brother, James B. Wiseman; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Beulah Gray, Lottie Cain, and Shirley and Dick Plymale; a daughter-in-law, Martha Berry; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 16 great, great grandchildren; one great, great, great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Belinda and Earl of Petersburg, VA. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Tom Arner. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Brian Viel, Jerry Coffman, Roy Wiseman, Bob Nutt, George Wiseman, Danny Almarode, Dennis Randolph, and Dick Rexrode. Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Henry Funeral Home.
