Catherine "Kathy" Smith

CATHERINE M. SMITH VERONA, VA Catherine Diane "Kathy" (Marshall) Smith, 59, died Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. She was born August 16, 1955, in Staunton, a daughter of the late George W. and Bertha Ellen (Tuning) Marshall. She was a former employee of Hershey Chocolate. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Dale and Stephen Ray Marshall; grandparents, Walter and Vada (Pullen) Tuning; and a very dear uncle, William Tuning. She is survived by her devoted husband, Dennis L. Smith; daughter, Kristie Moyers (Eddie) of Doe Hill; son, William "Wee" Harris (Becky); daughter, Tracie Knight and fiancé, Stacy Woods, of Churchville; seven grandchildren, Charles and Robert Moyers, Courtney, Caitlyn and Hannah Harris, Richard Woods, and Ginger Knight and fiancé, Andrew Terry; one great granddaughter whom she called Peanut Serenity Terry; two sisters, Jackie Messer and Kay Garber; two brothers, Dennie and Georgie Marshall; and a very dear aunt, Jean Tuning. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2015 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Greg, Timmy, Billy and Frankie Tuning and Wayne and Gary Marshall. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2015 at the funeral home.
