CECIL B. CAMPBELL MINT SPRING, VA Cecil Bryant Campbell, 89, husband of Helen (Jennings) Campbell, of 2413 Lee Jackson Highway, passed away Monday, October 28, 2013, at Augusta Health, Fishersville. He was born September 4, 1924, in Augusta County, the youngest child of eight children to the late Lacy Alexander and Rose Virginia (Barger) Campbell. He was educated in Augusta County Schools and Dunsmore Business College. He was self-employed owning an oil distributorship and a trucking business. Following his retirement he assisted his son in his business, Campbell Company Botanical Services. He also enjoyed contracting small landscape jobs. He was a lifelong member of Mint Spring United Methodist Church where he served and chaired on many committees. He was instrumental in organizing the Mint Spring Ruritan Club in which he was a very active charter member. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Helen Jennings Campbell, whom he married June 16, 1945. Additional family members include a son, William Cecil Campbell; a daughter, Virginia Ann Campbell Jones and her husband, Gary, all of Mint Spring; and two granddaughters, Christina Ann Jones and her friend, Joe Dugas, Jr., and Angela Katrina Clontz and her husband, Aaron of Stuarts Draft. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family having been predeceased by two brothers, Henry and Richard Campbell and five sisters, Mae Nuckoles, Ruby Coffey, Effie Coyner, Edna Eavers, and Marie Campbell. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2013 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Terry L. Clark. Private burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery for family members. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2013 in the Henry Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Mint Spring United Methodist Church, Current Expense Fund, P.O. Box 14, Mint Spring, VA 24463 or to a charity of one's choice.
