Charlene Cologne Franklin

CHARLENE L. FRANKLIN STAUNTON, VA Charlene Cologne (Lewis) Franklin, 81, of 89 Manchester Drive, Apt. 117 died Sunday, March 18, 2012, at her residence. She was born June 10, 1930, in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Walter and Mabel (Franklin) Lewis. Ms. Franklin was a member of Community Methodist Church and the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 7814. Family members include two sons, Dr. Eugene H. Franklin, III of Lexington, KY and Robert Lewis Franklin of Portland, OR; two daughters, Cecelia Franklin Bonner of Philadelphia, PA and Debra E. Wallace of Staunton; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six brothers and six sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2012, in the Community Methodist Church by Pastor Mary L. Pysell. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, 22, 2012 at her residence. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
