Charles Eugene "Gene" Mcdorman

CHARLES GENE MCDORMAN  STAUNTON, VA… Charles Eugene “Gene” McDorman, 75, husband of Naomi Lucille (Clifton) McDorman of Staunton, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016 in Augusta Health. He was born July 8, 1941, in Richmond, a son of the late Charles Floyd and Myrtle Stone (McCray) McDorman. Prior to retirement, he was employed by McKee Foods and he had also worked at Genesco. Gene was a boxing fan and was always looking to help others with anything.  He especially loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife of 54 years, family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Gary E. and Beth McDorman; a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Tony Schages; five grandchildren, Parker and Cooper McDorman and Kayla, Chase, and Aiden Schages; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard L. and Audrey McDorman of Apopka, FL; two sisters, Mary Bayne and Diana White; and a special nephew, Michael Surratt. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dale McDorman and an infant sister, Joyce. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, December 19, 2016 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Heath Spivey.  Burial will follow in Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Gary McDorman, Tony Schages, Mike Surratt, Donnie Eckert, Spencer Eckert and Nathan Eckert.
