CHARLES D. REESE, SR. GREENVILLE, VA Charles David "Tuck" "Zeke" Reese, Sr., 83, husband of Sue Wagner Reese, of 4276 Lee Jackson Highway, died Monday, March 3, 2014, at his residence. He was born November 29, 1930, in Rockbridge County, a son of the late David Roscoe and Nellie Mae (Gordon) Reese. Prior to retirement, Mr. Reese was employed by Marston and Michael. He was also employed by the Staunton Creamery and Lowes Tire. He was a member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church. Charles loved his family and enjoyed spending time with all of his grandchildren. He loved his pets "Mindy" and "Ginger". He never met a stranger and lived "One day at a time". In addition to his wife of 53 years, family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Charles David, Jr. and Deanna of Greenville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda K. and Carl Bennett of Fishersville and Susan Diane and Ronnie Rohr, Jr. of Greenville; five grandchildren, Ronnie Rohr, III and wife, Katie, Justin Rohr, Lindsey Reese, Amanda Reese, and Lauren Reese; two great grandchildren, Wesley and Jake Rohr; a step granddaughter, Amanda Seward and husband, Robert; four step-great grandchildren, Caleb, Cole, Chase, and Cayden Seward; a sister, Virginia "Agnes" Smiley of Staunton; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Houston G. Reese. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. JoAnn Bunn. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Travis Armstrong, Todd Fitzgerald, Don Flint, Wayne Gorden, Danny Swortzel, Michael Swortzel, and Jason Hartzog. Honorary pallbearers will be his nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at the funeral home. There will be no public viewing. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, 334 Mt. Tabor Road, Staunton, VA 24401. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. H. Lynn Moore, Augusta Health PCU, and Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah.
