CHRISTINE B. KEHRER RAPHINE, VA.. Christine Rothwell (Boyd) Kehrer, 86, widow of Theodore Rinehold Kehrer, of 470 Lofton Road, died Friday, December 13, 2013, at Augusta Health due to complications of alzheimers. She was born July 4, 1927, in Stuarts Draft a daughter of the late Herbert C. and Estie L. Boyd. Christine, along with her late husband, Theodore, operated Lofton Engines for over 50 years. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Daniel "Boone" Kehrer; two sisters, Thelma Harvey and Sybil Boyd; a brother, Ervin Boyd; a great grandson, Jackson Chase Henkel; and a granddaughter-in-law, Robin J. Kehrer. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen T. and Amy Kehrer of Raphine and Ted R. and Millie Kehrer of Greenville; a daughter, Sandra K. Richie of Raphine; six grandchildren, William "Willie" Kehrer, Ted R. Kehrer II, Ginger K. McLain and husband, Don, Timothy Kehrer, Troy Henkel and wife, Candace, and Lance R. Richie and wife, Julie; and eight great grandchildren, Brandon C., Ashley N., and Ryan T. Kehrer, Brooklyn K. and Caleb A. McLain, Daniel D. and Kendra L.Kehrer, and Andrew R. Henkel. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2013 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Dennis Bradley, Sr. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tony Fitzgerald, Danny Fitzgerald, Steve Doyle, Jerry Link, Roger Rowe, and Brian Doyle. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, December 16, 2013, in the funeral home and other times at the home of Ted and Millie Kehrer, 97 Almo Chapel Road, Greenville. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Central and Western Virginia Chapter, 1160 Pepsi Place, Suite 306, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
