Clara Catherine Sheets

CLARA C. SHEETS STAUNTON, VA Clara Catherine "Kitty" Sheets, 88, of 22 Baldwin Park, Staunton, died Wednesday, August 28, 2013, in King's Daughters' Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born January 10, 1925 at Roman, Augusta County, a daughter of the late John Odie and Clara Virginia (Crummett) Sheets. Ms. Sheets was a 1943 graduate of North River High School. Prior to retiring in 1985, she was employed by Smith's Transfer Corporation as a customer invoicing supervisor. She was a member of Lebanon Church of the Brethren. Family members include a special friend, Leslie Fifer, Jr.; a brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Katherine Sheets of Churchville; three sisters-in-law, Ann Polachek, Louise Sheets, and Ina Sheets; five nieces, Karen Relovsky, Patricia Yacisin, Gloria Winkler, Donna Miller, and Linda Ebel; and ten nephews, R. E. Sheets, Jr., Alan Beaver, Gary Beaver, Rodger Beaver, Jerry Sheets, Douglas Sheets, Steven Bosserman, James Sheets, Eugene Polachek, and John Fox; a number of great nieces and nephews; and a dear friend and caregiver, Edna Garrett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John Sheets, Charles W. Sheets, and Rudolph Sheets; three sisters, Helen Beaver, Elizabeth Sheets Polachek, and Mae S. Fox; her step-mother, Gourney Rimel Whitmore Sheets; two brothers-in-law, Emil Polachek and Claude Fox; and a niece, Deborah Nastelli. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 2013, in Lebanon Church of the Brethren by the Revs. Jimmy Ross and Garold Senger, Jr. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be her nephews, Rudolph Sheets, Jr., Gary Beaver, Rodger Beaver, Jerry Sheets, Douglas Sheets, James Sheets, Steven Bosserman, and Eugene Polachek. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Coffman, John Fox, Alan Beaver, Lloyd Stanley, Sr., and A. R. "Jim" Reid, Nieces, Wives of her nephews, and the Senior Group of Cedars of Lebanon. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2013, in Henry Funeral Home.
