MILLBORO, VA… Clarence Alfred Cleveland, 83, widower of Cora Katherine (Wine) Cleveland, of 167 Long Lane Drive, died Sunday, March 13, 2016, at his residence. He was born January 24, 1933, in Staunton, a son of the late Clarence A., Sr., and Mildred (Messick) Cleveland. Mr. Cleveland joined the United States Navy in 1950 and served until 1994, achieving the rank of Command Master Chief. He taught school at Millboro High School and was very involved as athletics coach. He also taught at Woodrow Wilson High School. He was owner/operator of Rough Mountain Hunt Camp and was a vital member of his community. He loved to spend time at his cottage in Poquoson, boating and fishing. He also loved to spend time in Bath County, hunting and fishing. He was a diehard UVA sports fan and attended many football, basketball, and baseball games to support his favorite team. He attended Millboro Presbyterian Church. He met the love of his life, Kathy, and was a devoted husband and father to Doug, Jo Brenda, and John.
