CLEO B. CAMPBELL STAUNTON, VA Cleo Barbara Allen Campbell, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother left us June 17, 2014, to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 27, 1930, daughter of the late Bettie Ann Smith and Marvin Smith. Mrs. Campbell retired from Genesco after 27 years then retired from Valley Mission Thrift Store in January 2010. She was a devoted member of New Life Foursquare Gospel Church since 1951 where she taught in the children's department. She married Robert Fred Campbell on September 20, 1947. He preceded her in death in March 1975. Family members include four children, Bobby Campbell and wife, Agnes, Betty Graham and husband, Wayne, Penny Burns and husband, Pete, Scotty Campbell and wife, Cathy; four grandchildren, Jesse Campbell and wife, Suzanne, Rebekah Smith, Yvonne Rivera, and Jonathan Burns and wife, Kayla; eleven great grandchildren, Kristin Johnston, Jesse Ryan and Kaitlyn Campbell, Glenn and Shelby Smith, Haylee Berry, Dante Rivera, Liam, Laci, Logan, and Landon Burns; three great, great grandchildren, Parker and Jaiden Johnston and Ayden Smith; a sister, June Berry of Staunton; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Allen; and three nephews and four nieces. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Allen. A celebration of life will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2014, in New Life Foursquare Gospel Church by the Rev. Brandon Carter. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Rocky Berry, Chuck Berry, Ryan Campbell, Steve Graham, Bill Brooks, Michael Burns, and Tracy Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be the great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014, at New Life Foursquare Gospel Church, 97 William Cousins Road, Staunton, and other times at the residence of Penny Burns, 336 Campbell Street, Staunton. Cleo's family invites you to join them on family night to celebrate Cleo's life as a wife, mother, "Mamal", Sunday School Teacher, and nursery teacher with laughter, smiles and tears.
