REV. CLIFFORD D. CALDWELL, II HARRISONBURG, VA Rev. Clifford Douglass "Kip" Caldwell, II, 86, husband of Louise (Petersen) Caldwell, of Sunnyside Presbyterian Community, Harrisonburg, VA, died Monday, May 27, 2013, at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born on May 2, 1927, in Bristol, a son of the late Judge Joseph Anderson and Isabelle Catherine (Hawley) Caldwell. Rev. Caldwell served 59 years as a Presbyterian Minister. He was pastor emeritus of Bethel Presbyterian Church and also served as minister at Pines Chapel Presbyterian, Emmanuel Presbyterian, Ben Salem Presbyterian, Mt. Joy Presbyterian, Poplar Hill Presbyterian, and Tinkling Springs Presbyterian churches. He was a member of Staunton Kiwanis Club. In addition to his wife of 59 years, family members include two sons, C. Douglass Caldwell, III and his wife, Kathy, of Manassas and John Anderson Caldwell and wife, Julie, of Richmond; two daughters, Melinda Caldwell and husband, Jeff Blauvelt, of Westport, CT and Sarah Caldwell of Campobello, SC; and five grandchildren, Matthew, Kate, and Jack Caldwell and Jason and Allison Blauvelt. A service of praise and thanksgiving to God will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2013, at Bethel Presbyterian Church by the Revs. Philip W. Sommer, April Cranford, Paul O'Gorek, and Dr. Tully Hunter. A burial will be held at a later date in the Caldwell Family Cemetery in Bristol, TN. Memorials may be made to the church of your choice. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
