Clyde Glosburner Sweet

CLYDE G. SWEET STAUNTON, VA Clyde G. Sweet, 79, husband of Doris (Fitzgerald) Sweet, of 3638 Old Greenville Road, died Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at Augusta Health. He was born September 22, 1934, in Augusta County, a son of the late Stuart Swoope and Mary Elizabeth (Argenbright) Sweet. Mr. Sweet was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from DuPont after 31 years of service. He was a member of Third Presbyterian Church. In addition to his wife, family members include two sons, Clyde Ray Sweet of Staunton and Alan Jeffrey Sweet of Stuarts Draft. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Janet Lynn Sweet; a sister, Mary Stuart Hemp; and two brothers, Raymond S. Sweet and Grover Boyd Sweet. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2014, in Third Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Jack B. Wilkers. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to Third Presbyterian Church, 1313 Barterbrook Road, Staunton, VA 24401. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
