CORDELIA W. NORDER STAUNTON, VA Cordelia Wine Norder, 86, of 17 Villa View Drive, Staunton passed away at 8 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, at Envoy. She was born November 29, 1927, in Rolla, Augusta County, and raised in Washington, D.C., a daughter of the late Flora (Kiser) Wine Brooks and the late Richard Harold Wine. She spent most of her summer vacations on the farm of her grandparents, the late John and Julia Wine of Mt. Sidney, and the late David and Martie Kiser of Verona. Cordelia was an active member of the Baha'i faith for most of her life declaring her belief in the Prophet-Founder, Baha'u'llah. Cordelia was a graduate of the School of Dental Hygiene, Temple University, Phildalphia, PA. She worked for area dentist while raising a family in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. She also served under a federal project at the school in Lac Du Flambeau Indian Reservation. After relocating back to Virginia she continued to work as a dental hygienist until retirement. Cordelia was a published author, having written The Eternal Voice, a compilation of material prepared originally for a comparative religious newspaper series in the Rhinelander Daily News and the LaCrosse Daily Tirbune under the heading, "The Discovery of Truth in Religion". Cordelia was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Flora Kiser Wine Brooks ad Dr. William Franklin Brooks. The Brooks were co-founders of Brooks Restaurant of Verona in 1956. Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey W. Norder and wife, Delaina, and John E. Norder, all of Verona; four grandsons, David J. Norder of Staunton, Bryon J. Norder, of Chesapeake, Nicholas T. Norder, Jonathan F. Norder, of Verona, and one granddaughter, Kristyn N. Norder of Staunton. She is also survived by a special friend and caregiver, Mrs. Vicki Toombs. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2014,in Augusta Memorial Park by the Baha'i Community. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 420 Neff Avenue, Suite 210, Harrisonburg, VA 22801 or BAHA'I members can make a contribution to the BAHA'I faith.
