Carl Raymond Swenson Jr

Carl Raymond Swenson, Jr., known to his family as “Uncle Ray”, was born on September 26, 1937 in Lowell, Massachusetts. He was the son of Carl R. Swenson, Sr., and Ester Reid Swenson. As a young man, Carl Jr. served in the United States Air Force for four years. He held a variety of jobs during his life, but his passion was working with the Special Olympics. Carl was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Staunton, Virginia where he loved to sing in the choir. He is survived by his brother-in-law John L. Twarog, nieces Lauren Gallagher and Janet Millonig, nephew John R. Twarog, six great-nephews and one great-niece. Carl passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020.
