Caroline Ann Shenk

Caroline Ann (Hudlow) Shenk, 92, of Staunton, died Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Summit Square Retirement Community.

She was born March 28, 1929 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Ewell and Blanche (Shover) Hudlow.

She was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School.

Ann worked at Leggetts, was a secretary for Dr. David Webster, and later worked at Mary Baldwin College.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Lacurgus Watson “Gus” Shenk, Jr. who died in 2008.

Family members include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Larry and Jann Shenk and Glenn Shenk; a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Phillip Coltrane; five grandchildren, Jonathan Shenk, Katie Shenk and wife, Anna Loring, Jill Midgett, Amelia Coltrane, and Elizabeth Coltrane and husband, Mike Burket; and eight great grandchildren, Hailey Johnson, Gray Midgett, Jacob Johnson, Logan Shenk, Parker Shenk, Henry Gus Loring Shenk, Hazel Bette Loring Shenk, and Charlie Burket.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the graveside service Thursday, May 6, 2021 in the Henry Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2021 in Thornrose Cemetery by the Rev. Won Un.

Active pallbearers will be Michael Burket, Jimmy Midgett, Gray Midgett, Phil Coltrane, Jonathan Shenk, and Jacob Johnson.
