Carolyn H. Myers, 77, wife of James E. Myers, Sr., went to be with the Lord on July 1, 2022, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Staunton, Va. on August 22, 1944, a daughter of the late Harry Herbaugh and Lula Belle (Moore) Lane.

Carolyn was an active member at Christ United Methodist Church throughout her life serving in various groups, especially the nursery and her card ministry that blessed many throughout the years. She was very strong and grounded in her faith and the Lord shone through her and reflected down throughout her family.

Carolyn ran a daycare at her home for over 40 years and raised multiple kids in the Staunton area. She was caring, thoughtful, and kind, and will be deeply missed.

In addition to her husband of 60 years, she is survived by two daughters, Terry Grubb (Larry), Tammy Pence (Doug); a son, James “Jamie” Myers, Jr.; grandchildren, Daniel Grubb, Rebecca Grubb, and fiancé Andrew, Jonathan Grubb (Alex), Erica Fox (Mike), Madelyn Voss (Colten); two great-grandchildren, Jonah Grubb and Henry Fox; a sister Joann Atkinson, a sister-in-law, Donna Herbaugh, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Gene Back, Jerry Herbaugh, Isabel Floyd, and Ferraba Smith.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday July 9, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church by Pastor Madison Long. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
