Cary Jean C. Breeden

Cary Jean (Collins) Breeden left this world peacefully of natural causes on Wednesday May 20, 2020 at Shenandoah Nursing Home in Fishersville, VA. She was born in Charlottesville, VA on December 28, 1923 , the only child of Herbert W. & Cary Jean (Corbett) Collins. She was married on April 5, 1944 to her sweetheart & very best friend Ernest Hampton Breeden for almost 71 years until his passing on February 17, 2015.

She was a 1941 graduate of Lane High School in Charlottesville, VA. maintaining life long friendships with many of her classmates. She worked at Virginia Telegraph & Telephone Co for many years & later kept the family business Piedmont Furniture running after the passing of her father. She was a life long member of First Presbyterian Church & a charter member of Meadows Presbyterian Church both in Charlottesville. She enjoyed yearly trips to Virginia Beach & Bath County Va & time with family & friends.

She is survived by her daughter Sherrie J. Breeden, son in law David L Schwartz, & grandson Florin C. Breeden & several devoted cousins.

We would especially like to thank the staff at Shenandoah Nursing Home for their excellent, compassionate & dedicated safe care of Cary Jean.

We will keep everyone posted on a date for a memorial celebration at a later date when the Covid 19 pandemic passes.
