Cathy Elizabeth Green Blinn, 71, wife of Dr. Robert Holland Blinn, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022 at her home surrounded by family. She had bravely battled cancer for almost two years before succumbing to the disease.

She then earned her Licensure in Clinical Social Work in 1983 and served local families in her work both privately as well as at Valley Community Services Board, Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents, Augusta Health, and People Places.

Cathy was a talented musician who sang with several area choral groups including the Rockbridge Chorus. She was a self-educated artist and photographer and loved bodysurfing at the beach. She also loved working in her garden, riding horses, and being with her family. She was dearly loved.

Surviving in addition to her husband of forty years is her brother, Rev. Dr. Roy Donald Green Jr. (wife Nancy), of Bend, Oregon, daughter, Jada Elizabeth Blinn (fiance Roger Reynolds), of Churchville, son, Michael Parnell Blinn (wife Melissa), of Churchville, and cousin Geoffrey Murray (wife Sandy) of Napa, California. Additionally, she loved two sons by marriage: Jeremy Robert Blinn (wife Tracy) of Deland, Florida, and Andrew Holland Blinn (wife Julie) of Durham, North Carolina. She was blessed to have nine grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Raymond Cruz and the nursing staff of Augusta Health Cancer Center, and Dr. Paul Kunk and the staff of the Emily Couric Cancer Center at UVA for their concern and excellent care.

The family will receive friends at their home in Raphine. Burial will be private.
