Charles Vance Belote
Charles Vance Belote, 86, husband of Nancy Lillian (Harmon) Belote, of Greenville, died Thursday, February 11, 2021 at his residence.
He was born September 17, 1934 in Norfolk, the son of the late John Vance and Mabel (Sheehen) Belote.
Mr. Belote was a veteran of the Marine Corp where he was a member of the Marine Corp pistol team. He later became a master diver and a multi engine private pilot.
Prior to retirement, Mr. Belote was employed by Mary Baldwin College.
In addition to his wife, family members include two children, Carol Leigh (Belote) Benson of Manassas and Lee Gordon Belote of Greenville; and two grandchildren, Catherine Christine Benson and Elizabeth Caroline Benson.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Carroll Belote and a grandchild, Collin Hunter Benson.
There will be no formal services.
