Charles E. Shifflett

Charles Edward (Slick) Shifflett, 96, husband of Treva T. Shifflett, passed away March 27, 2023.

He was Husband, Dad, and Grampy (his favorite role), as well as a proud Marine, having served his country during both the latter part of WWII and during the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his wife of 62 years, he is survived by a daughter, Shirley Schmock (George) of Staunton; a son, Lennie Tolley (Bonita) of Verona; and two beloved granddaughters, Denise Vissers of Green Bay, WI, and her three boys, and Kaitlin Byrd (Timothy) of Waynesboro, VA, and their two boys; and one grandson, Charles Schmock of Madison, WI, and his son. He is also survived by a close brother-in-law, Frank Tolley (Rose) of Greenville VA and a special cousin, Sam Crow (Norma Lee) of Mt. Sidney, VA.

In following Charlie's wishes, there will be no formal services. The family will hold a private memorial at a later date.
