Christopher Holmes Gienger

CHRISTOPHER H. GIENGER   Staunton, VA… Christopher Holmes Gienger, 62, husband of Martha “Lynn” Gienger, of Staunton, died on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Gienger was born on October 18, 1955 in Cheverly, Maryland to Laura Catherine (Phillippi) Gienger and the late Guy Watson Gienger. He was employed with the Virginia Program for Aging Services/Staunton Senior Center as a driver and participated in Meals on Wheels. He was a train enthusiast since the age of 14 and modeled HO scale trains. He was a member of the Shenandoah Valley Railroad Club.In addition to his wife and mother, surviving family members include, two daughters, Jennifer Rae James (Ezra S.) and Julia Fay Ariel Gienger; one brother Charles Watson Gienger (Judy); four granddaughters, Tristin Maryius Boehmer, Corinne Abigail James, Amanda Leigh Jean Powell and Faith Ann Marie Powell. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Guy Gienger.  A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Third Presbyterian Church by the Revs. Joshua Singleton and David Taylor.
