Claudia Stoutamyre Cox
Claudia (Stoutamyre) Cox, 97, widow of Wilson Swisher Cox, of Staunton died Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at Birch Gardens.
She was born March 6, 1924, in Augusta County a daughter of the late Hampton and Iva Lee (Landes) Stoutamyre.
She was a member of Spring Hill Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Thad and Arnold Stoutamyre; a sister, Elaine Davies; and a grandson, Donald N. Cox, Jr.
Family includes two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Eleanor Cox and Gary and Joanne Cox; a daughter, Rejulia “Judy” Stover; a sister, Imogene Kesterson; three grandchildren, Denise and Jaime Berumen, Patrick D. Cox, and Sherrie Cox; a number of great grandchildren; step grandchildren, Tommy and Marilyn Hebb, Terry and Laurie Hebb, Timothy and Kim Hebb, Kent and Tayna Hebb, Rena and Mark Blomquist, Jeff Hebb and their families; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m on Tuesday May 25, 2021 in Pleasant View Cemetery by the Rev. Todd Lilley.
