Cornelia Kivlighan Henry, 84, loved mother and grandmother, passed peacefully to her heavenly home on March 28, 2022. She was born October 30, 1937, the daughter of the late Mary Abbitt and Joseph Harold Kivlighan.

Cornelia was a graduate of Holton-Arms Junior College in Washington DC and the University of Virginia School of Nursing. She was active in her nursing career for thirty-five years. She proudly served five years as a Navy nurse, spending a year in Vietnam from 1968-1969 at the NSA Hospital near DaNang.

Cornelia was an active member of First Presbyterian Church for many years where she served as an elder, head usher, trustee, and in various other areas. She was a devoted 25-year volunteer for Augusta Health, Meals on Wheels, Trinity Noon Lunch Program, American Red Cross, and the YMCA.

Survivors include her son, Michael, his wife Jennifer and cherished granddaughter, Aislinn Grace. Also surviving are her brother John Abbitt Kivlighan, Sr. and wife, Della, niece Angela K. Patterson and nephews, Sam B. Kivlighan and John A. Kivlighan, Jr., and many cousins, great nieces, great nephews, and one great grand niece.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 PM, Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Henry Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 1, 2022 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Todd Brown.

Burial will be private in Thornrose Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank or Wounded Warrior Project.
